Stone Soup: A Community Feast & Harvest Celebration

Join BALE for a magical community feast! We're bringing the classic European folktale to life - where strangers teach a village that sharing creates abundance.

How it works: Donate vegetables Saturday 9/20 (12-3pm at BALE) anything that cannot be used in soup will go into a salad or side dish!

9/21 Sunday join the South Royalton Community Garden for a potato harvest (10am)!

Or meet us on the Green at the Royalton Farmers Market, where you can help veteran cauldron keeper, fire tender and fiddler Randy Leavitt, prep veggies and cook everything in a giant cauldron over wood fire while we share the Stone Soup story together. Help chop, stir, feed the fire, and celebrate!

Timeline:

10:00am potato harvest & veggie prep

1:30pm Short film screenings hosted by Fledge Fest @ BALE Commons

3:00pm Participatory storytelling for all ages and kids parade alongside the soup cooking

4pm FREE community feast for 300+

All ages welcome. Come hungry, leave nourished by food and community.

BALE Commons, 35 S Windsor St, South Royalton
