Artful Visible Mending

  • BALE (Building A Local Economy) 35 South Windsor Street Royalton, VT, 05068 United States (map)

A Mending Our World Gathering at the BALE Commons

Mending and sewing—so many metaphors are linked to fixing our broken world. Mending a torn clothing item may seem small, but it’s a way to care for something, keep it out of the waste stream, and take a moment to pause and engage in an age-old tradition of gathering to make repairs.

Join us with your favorite clothing or cloth housewares that need mending. Learn several easy stitches to visibly repair your items and get them back into use.

Sue Schlabach and Shelby Kalm will be available with threads, needles and techniques to repair cloth items.

Bring teeshirts, jeans, sweaters, woven shirts…

Beginners and seasoned sewers are welcome.
All genders welcome.
Interested kids are welcome accompanied by an adult.

Let’s share knowledge, sew together and experience the joy of mending.
