White River Time Exchange

As an outcome of a Vermont Council for Rural Development’s visioning process, a BALE-led group has gathered to launch a “time bank” or time exchange as another powerful way to leverage local capacity outside of the U.S. dollar economy while strengthening the power of local business and shared community offerings (oh yes, it also breaks down barriers among class differences and equalizes the value of different kinds of work). A public launch is expected this spring or summer. We will initially be collaborating with the Kimball Public Library in Randolph and expect to bring on many more partners.
